White Sox acquire Peavy as long as he Agrees to Deal!

Published by kchofmann at 1:10 pm under sports Edit This

With Jose Contreras struggling John Danks and Gavin Floyd pitching not as dominant as last year the Sox as in the White Sox are going for one of the biggest prizes out there Jake Peavy.  According to Yahoo Sports the deal is done but Peavy must agree as he has a no trade clause in his contract but the deal could be sending him to the American League for the first time in his career.

Jake Peavy could be the savior for the pitching rotation that has struggled at times with the exception of Mark Buerhle who has quietly once again become the ace of the rotation.  With Peavy the Sox might be re-amped as the Sox are off to a less than impressive start.  Although the Sox have won two in a row over Minnesota they are still 51/2 games behind Detroit with two other teams ahead of them currently.

Pitching which was one of our strengths last year, especially with the starters, but that has dropped off this year and if Peavy comes to Chicago you got to beleive he will elevate everyone’s performance.  For those that do not know Jake Peavy who has played for San Diego in the National League he maybe one of the top five starters in the whole league.  Cubs fans are more likely to know him just based on the league he plays in currently and from all of the rumors of coming to the Cubs over last year’s off season.

How fantastic it would be if the White Sox can get him to the southside after the rumors of him going to the northside for the last couple of years.  This is the kind of deal that shows once again Kenny Williams is always thinking of ways to improve his ball club.  If the deal is completed by Peavy you got to believe the Sox will be a threat once again in the American League central.

Lastly the Chicago Bears just traded for one Jake Cutler and now we might have two Jakes with big arms in the same city. How sweet is that as a Chicago fan? Go ahead to whtiesox.com for the latest.
