The Best of the Best in Futbol Collide!

Published by kchofmann under sports Edit This

Over 200 million people are expected to watch the UEFA Champions League Final.  The world’s favorite sport should provide an extremely exciting Final.  The big question for you are you a dressed yellow or red as Barcelona from the Spanish Premier League and Manchester ’s United Engand’s Premier League clash for European Club bragging rights?

For those who might not follow soccer as much as the regular excessive futbol fan who colors their body with their team colors and chants in complete rhythm to their team’s flare.  Two of the best soccer players in the world are meeting on the grandest stage.  In Rome a city of it’s own historical brilliance two mortals are trying to become eternal champions.

Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two players to watch in this grand Final.  The closest resemblance I can think that corelates this is a Kobe Bryant and Lebron James clash currently, or even better a Larry Bird and Magic Johnson classic throwback.  Ronoldo and Messi make moves that look so easy they make a seasoned veteran look like he is playing his first club appearance.  Ronaldo #7 from Manchester United is one of the highest paid players in the world, while Messi #10 might be one the most beloved players in the world.

In addition to this epic battle of two great players these two teams represent the best in the world as far as European champions.  Not only are Messi and Ronaldo locked up but these two teams MAN U and BARCA are tied in their both rich and winning tradition as the most winningest club teams in UEFA history.  Each team is tied for all time championship wins and the winner in Rome not only is this year’s Champions League Champion but the all time winning club in all of Europe.

In summary, if there ever was a time to watch one soccer game today would be that day as you are about to watch the best of the best.  MAN U is riding on 25 straight wins in Champions League Matches and is the raining champion. While BARCA one of the most explosive teams out there right now has three players on their team that scored a combined 9o plus goals this year in club play.  Something has got to give and in a couple hours the grandest futbol match will be played and you as a sports fan will agree that even thou ice hockey and basketball are the dominant sport controlling our airwaves today is the day soccer is king.

White Sox acquire Peavy as long as he Agrees to Deal!

Published by kchofmann under sports Edit This

With Jose Contreras struggling John Danks and Gavin Floyd pitching not as dominant as last year the Sox as in the White Sox are going for one of the biggest prizes out there Jake Peavy.  According to Yahoo Sports the deal is done but Peavy must agree as he has a no trade clause in his contract but the deal could be sending him to the American League for the first time in his career.

Jake Peavy could be the savior for the pitching rotation that has struggled at times with the exception of Mark Buerhle who has quietly once again become the ace of the rotation.  With Peavy the Sox might be re-amped as the Sox are off to a less than impressive start.  Although the Sox have won two in a row over Minnesota they are still 51/2 games behind Detroit with two other teams ahead of them currently.

Pitching which was one of our strengths last year, especially with the starters, but that has dropped off this year and if Peavy comes to Chicago you got to beleive he will elevate everyone’s performance.  For those that do not know Jake Peavy who has played for San Diego in the National League he maybe one of the top five starters in the whole league.  Cubs fans are more likely to know him just based on the league he plays in currently and from all of the rumors of coming to the Cubs over last year’s off season.

How fantastic it would be if the White Sox can get him to the southside after the rumors of him going to the northside for the last couple of years.  This is the kind of deal that shows once again Kenny Williams is always thinking of ways to improve his ball club.  If the deal is completed by Peavy you got to believe the Sox will be a threat once again in the American League central.

Lastly the Chicago Bears just traded for one Jake Cutler and now we might have two Jakes with big arms in the same city. How sweet is that as a Chicago fan? Go ahead to whtiesox.com for the latest.

Which has been better 2009 NHL or NBA playoffs?

Published by kchofmann under sports Edit This

All thou this might be in the eye of the beholder but in my eyes the NBA had a unbelievable first round of playoffs.  With the baby Bulls pushing the defending Champs, the Celtics to seven games and the Denver Nuggets surprising everyone out west their was no question the first round has gone to the NBA.

However the king of the second round has got to go to the NHL.  Perhaps the two best players in the league right now are about to play their seventh game in the second round.  Alexander Ovechkin from the Washington Capitols and Sidney Crosby the Pittsburgh Penguin are the future of the NHL and are all tied at 3 with both teams one win away and a the chance to play in the Eastern Conference Finals.

In Western Conference the Chicago Blackhawks have been reborn as they ae the first team to reach the final four of hockey.  One of the first six original hockey teams and they have come a long way as it is their first Conference Final since 1995. That was way back when Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick and Eddie Belfor were the kings of Chicago.  Now there are three new kings they are Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Nickolai Khabibulan.

What is even greater and perhaps building for a better conference final than the NBA is that the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks are heading for a collison course that any original fan of hockey will be mightily interested.  My proof, the fact that millions watched the game played in Wrigley Field on News year Day.  That game was a regular season game and it was the highest rated game and for good reason two teams that have a very rich history and a renewed rivalry.

The only way the NBA can eclipse the NHL playoffs is if Lebron James and Kobe Bryant meet in the Finals.  Both of these guys are on a collsion course that any fan would be just thrilled to see.  Lebron who won the MVP this year against last year’s MVP Kobe Bryant!  Now that match up might eclipse the NHL playoffs but for now I am glued to the NHL Playoffs as the Blackhawks are back and the NHL is exciting again.  You can even say last year’s NHL Playoffs were pretty good and this year has been 10 times better.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Published by kchofmann under sports Edit This

Yes most3dflags_mex0001-0003a.gif of you are wondering what about the Bulls, Blackhawks Bears or White Sox?  In due time my friends but today is about Cinco de Mayo and this gives me opportunity to tell you what is coming up later in the month for superdad.

First off everyone that read’s this today should do five things to honor Cinco de Mayo.  #1 You must drink one Mexican beer or drink, for example Corona or for the ladies a nice margarita, the choice is up to you and you must be 21 to do this. #2 You must scream Happy CINCO de MAYO at work or in public but if you’re like everyone else now a tweet or post about it on your favorite social networking site will be okay.  #3 Honk at the first person that has a Mexican flag or Mexican ensemble to their car which is not as rare as you think on this day and give them a holler.  #4 Have a Mexican dinner or just have one Mexican appetizer or sample.  Mexican food is great and if you are not eating then today is a great day to start.  #5 It is okay to take a siesta today, if you are warn out after a long day of work or just maybe a tough day then you are entitled to one siesta today.   Those are five easy ways to enjoy Cinco de Mayo enjoy and let me know how it goes for you? I’ll post comments on future posts.  Still need some help I added this nice link for more ideas! Plus get your free Mexican flag http://3dflags.com/world/mexican/national_flag/classic_waving_clip_art.html

Now what about what’s coming up this month, well you see it has been a full year since joining today.com and this month will also mean the 100th post ever! Holly Shnikeys! Currently only a few left before 100 but you will know when 100 hits no doubt about it!

Before hitting 100, here are my thoughts, superdad can be bigger than just 100 posts on the internet don’t you think?  Everyone can be there own supedad.  People always comment and ask how do you keep the blog going? It is hard to even think of a post sometimes to write about? Or even how can I get better?   In response, I just write what I like, my best advice for you if you really enjoy this, which at first is definately not the money, but it is more about just expressing on things that affect you in everyday life.  My main topic is sports but if I want to write something other than sports for just a day or two then in my opinion then you should. If Today decided not to publish then they will let you know but do not ever feel you are pigeon holed to writing about one thing here.  “Just remember this, if it is important to you then it is important to other people as well and even if you do not get a lot of people looking at your site relax, Rome was never built in a day it it takes time.”

Lastly this month could be the last or next step to the 2ooth post I’m really not sure on that one.  I will continue this blog as long as people continue to be very positive and supportive.  People that leave positive comments are what make me continue to write as well but even negative comments are good for me so do not feel held back if you are one of those who complete think this blog is just a joke.  Superdad has a thick toughness to him that negatives just bounce right off just like bullets off of Superman and I always look at a negative as constructive criticism.  If you think you will never be critiqued or criticized or mocked at then guess what, welcome to life, we get get critiqued mocked judged everyday.  It’s how you come back afterwords is what counts…
